How and why we are here?
To make a lasting impact, we know that we must actively engage and others. Our future plans are to form relationships with companies that will support our schools' mission of providing future funding for the school, in the form of grants, technical supplies, such as computers, tv's, projectors, solar equipment, etc. No donation is too small and it goes a long, long, way.
The Hope Village Community School, Zambia, began in 2023, when Lucille Conti was volunteering teaching art at a school for developmentally disabled children and also at a local orphanage in Livingstone, Zambia. There she met Oscar Kalumene, who told her of his dream of starting a school in his village, Ipee Village, in the western province of Zambia, about 400 miles from Livingstone. Oscar always wanted to be a teacher, but he wasn't afforded the opportunity, there was no school in his village and he hadn't the funding to attend school later in life. A women at this church, Julita, had inspired him to pursue his dream of building a school in his village. He asked Lucille, having an art background, to create a logo for the school and after many revisions, the the Hope Village Community school was formed. Lucille was so moved by Oscar's faith in his dream, and in God, and joined him in finding ways to help the children of his village go to school. Lucille went back home to the US and is now a 501c3 Non profit, to help with Oscar's dream of building a school and providing education for children of his village. Oscar is also obtaining non profit status in Zambia. He is told that all is approved by the Ministry of Education in Zambia, but the criteria I that we build a brick school, and provide access to clean water that is close for the children as well as build living quarters for the teachers. This means, we need the money to make this a reality. Please help us share in the joy of offering an education to children who previously had no opportunity to attend school. We, at The Hope Village Community School, Zambia appreciate your help and are eternally grateful for all your generosity and kindness. Thank you.
